Urban Cycling World Championships 2022: Hannah Roberts wins fourth BMX freestyle park title
Hannah Roberts, a talent from the United States, stood out in her class by winning a fourth women’s BMX freestyle park championship on Sunday in Abu Dhabi (13 November). Japan’s Rim Nakamura was added to the list of winners in the men’s category.
On Sunday at the UCI Urban Cycling World Championships in Abu Dhabi, American star Hannah Roberts won a historic fourth BMX freestyle park gold (13 November).
The Olympic silver medalist, who currently has four of the five championship titles that have been up for grabs since the event’s start in 2017, is without a doubt the reigning queen of BMX freestyle.
Roberts has been a dominant force in the sport, making her international debut at the first world championships in 2017 at the age of 17 and then going on to win in 2019, 2021, and now 2022.

With a score of 87.20, the 21-year-old Roberts was once again at the top of her game, finishing more than three points clear of her closest competitor. Nikita Ducarroz of Switzerland, who won the bronze medal at the Olympics, was the second-best rider that day with an 84.70. Iveta Miculyová of the Czech Republic won the bronze with a score of 83.20.
Olympic champion from the United Kingdom Charlotte Worthington finished fifth, which was disappointing for her.

Rim Nakamura of Japan, who finished first in the men’s elite division with a score of 93.80, dropped a 720 bar spin, tuck no-hander in his opening run.
Logan Martin of Australia, the reigning Olympic and world champion, finished behind the 20-year-old Nakamura who won his first global championship.
Anthony Jeanjean of France took third place with a score of 91.20, followed by former world champion Justin Dowell of the United States in second place (91.50). Martin’s 86.40 score was good enough for sixth place.

How do the world championships affect Olympic qualification?
