Agar and Renshaw were called up to replace injured Green and Starc for the third Test

For the third Test match against South Africa at the SCG, Australia has brought in spinner Ashton Agar and batsman Matthew Renshaw to fill in for the injured Cameron Green and Mitchell Starc.

Both Green and Starc suffered finger injuries during the second Test at the MCG against the Proteas, which was won on Thursday by innings and 182 runs. As a result, they will not be able to play in the final match, which begins on Wednesday.

After missing the previous three Tests due to a side strain, Josh Hazlewood is now available for selection and is most likely to replace Starc in the lineup.

All-rounder Green will likely be replaced by Agar, who struck the memorable score of 98 on his Test debut during the 2013 Ashes. Australian selectors are anxious to add a spinning alternative to Nathan Lyon at the SCG. Tony Dodemaide, a selector, noted that Ashton “offers a second spin option should the Sydney pitch be favorable

e to turn, as it has done in the past.” He also contributes a strong batting element.”Matthew is a diverse batting option who is in fantastic form. He recently scored an unbeaten century against the West Indies in a PM’s XI tour match.

Josh Hazlewood’s comeback is a blessing, and Lance Morris’ raw speed and technique provide a genuine point of differentiation for the fast bowlers. When we get in Sydney and evaluate the weather closer to the Test match, this squad will cover all the basics.

Agar, a left-arm orthodox spinner who has played four Tests, most recently one in 2017, finished with nine wickets and 195 runs. Renshaw, whose last Test match was in 2018, has scored 310 runs for Queensland in eight innings this Sheffield Shield season.

Pat Cummins (captain), Ashton Agar, Scott Boland, Alex Carey, Marcus Harris, Josh Hazlewood, Travis Head, Usman Khawaja, Marnus Labuschagne, Nathan Lyon, Lance Morris, Matthew Renshaw, Steve Smith, and David Warner are the members of the Australia team.
