Yoga Philosophy

Yoga Philosophy is Now Available Online

Yoga philosophy is now available online and many yoga enthusiasts, yoga practitioners and yoga teachers are taking advantage of the opportunity to learn the philosophy of this sacred practice online.  Yoga is so much more than a movement practice, even though most people envision yoga poses when they hear the word yoga.  Yoga has been around for thousands and thousands of years and comes to us from India.  There are 8 limbs in the yogic path and yoga poses are just one of the 8 limbs.

Whether you’re wondering how to balance the crown chakra, the sahasrara chakra, or how to know if you’re root chakra is out of balance, yoga philosophy may have answers for you.  Yoga philosophy looks at the esoteric body of yoga.  It answers questions like, “what are the nadis, koshas and chakras and how do they connect?”  It explains all of the intricacies of the subtle body and it’s healing powers.

You can study with the original Online Yoga School to learn all of this and much more.  Online Yoga School is known for it’s detailed yoga philosophy trainings and workshops.  You can learn about all 8 limbs in the 8 limb path.  You can also learn how to meditate, what are the yamas and niyamas, and you can learn what pranayama is.  You can learn how breathwork prepares the body for asana practice and meditation.  You can learn how all of these yogic practices compliment one another.

You will learn about the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, where they came from and what information they contain.  They are a little bit like a handbook to life for the yoga practitioners of the world, and the text is considered to be sacred.  The content of the Yoga Sutras tells us how to live by the yogic code, what to do and what not to do.  It explains how to navigate the trials and tribulations of life.

This information was previously not available online.  Many people would travel to India to take yoga teacher trainings at ashrams or yoga retreats.  People would study with their guru to learn all about the philosophy of yoga.  Eventually it came to the western hemisphere and became available at certain yoga studios, but these trainings were very expensive.  Now that the training is available for online learning, it is affordable, accessible and still authentic.
